At Camp MoCA, we believe that art is not just about creating beautiful objects; it's about fostering creativity, self-expression, and growth. Our agricultural lessons, for example, teach campers about the interconnectedness of our environment and the importance of taking care of the world around us. By engaging in hands-on projects in our working garden, campers learn about the importance of sustainable living and the power of collaboration. They learn that their actions impact the world around them and that they can make a difference in their community.

At Camp MoCA, we celebrate each camper's unique perspective and encourage them to embrace individuality. Providing a supportive and inclusive environment empowers campers to express themselves freely and explore their creativity without fear of judgment. Campers develop a growth mindset through this process that allows them to see failure as an opportunity to learn and embrace new challenges with enthusiasm and determination.

We believe all children should have access to creative expression, community building, and hands-on learning experiences, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. We are committed to providing opportunities for all children to attend Camp MoCA and participate in our unique and enriching programming. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages a growth mindset, empowering children to see themselves as valuable community members. Camp MoCA Westport is thrilled to provide a unique and engaging summer camp experience for young artists. By exploring diverse art styles and renowned artists, our campers will delve into themes of self-expression, family, community, sustainability, and cultural diversity. We aim to foster a love of art and creativity while helping our young artists develop character-building traits.

Throughout the summer, our campers will participate in character-building activities that foster trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, citizenship, kindness, empathy, resilience, patience, perseverance, and open-mindedness. The Art of Mindfulness

$45

with Lisa Pak

Calendar Next available session starts Jun 8, 2024 at 4 pm

June 8 | 4-5:30 PM

"The Art of Mindfulness" at MoCA Westport is designed to be inclusive and welcoming for participants of all backgrounds and experience levels. In this program, participants embark on a journey of self-awareness and bond with others through practicing mindfulness during a gallery tour at MoCA Westport culminating in a sound bath meditation experience led by Lisa Pak of Hummingbird Healing Center.

Sound bath meditations have been shown to reduce stress, enable deep relaxation, strengthen the immune system, enhance creativity and uplift the spirit. Participants begin by lying down on yoga mats (think Savasana) and use blankets, bolters, eye pillows and other props to become  comfortable while the sound begins to "wash" over you.

Lisa uses a wide palate of sound healing instruments including gongs, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, Native American style flute, percussion and vocals. She leads you through a journey of the senses, eventually resting in a profound space of deep inner peace.
