Watercolors Tuesday Evenings

This 4 part series of classes is offered to middle school - adult participants on Tuesdays 6:00p - 7:30p. If you love the whimsical, fluid nature of watercolors then this is the course for you. Perfect for beginners or those who wish to freshen up their skills, students will learn about composition, color theory, and blending techniques in watercolor while producing still-life paintings. This is a great opportunity to become comfortable with the medium in a relaxed, encouraging setting.

Mini MoCA Learning Lab & Art Adventures Tuesdays

Blending emerging literacy and math skills with artistic adventures - children in grades Nursery to Pre-K enjoy an hour at MoCA Westport with our certified instructors engaged in creative pursuits with an empasis on emerging literacy and art enrichement. This is a drop off class so students must be fully potty trained. 

Toddler Thursdays

Offered to toddlers aged 24-36 months and their parent/ caregivers this fall from Sept. 15th - Nov. 3rd. Spend an hour with your toddler and one of our certified instructors every Thursday 10:15a- 11:15a. Class will be held under the tent outdoors (weather permitting) and will may be brought indoors when it becomes too cold to hold outdoors.

Introducing young children to art as creators and observers opens the door to self expression and creativity. The act of producing art assists toddlers in developing fine motor skills. Holding a paintbrush so that it will make the desired marks, snipping paper with scissors into definite shapes, drawing with a crayon, or squeezing glue from a bottle in a controlled manner; all help develop a child’s fine motor skills. 

STEM in the Garden

This 6 part series of classes are offered to elementary school students on Wednesday afternoons from 4p-5:30p. Numerous studies point to school gardens as a means of improving academic achievement, promoting healthy lifestyles, demonstrating the principles of stewardship, encouraging community and social development, and instilling a sense of place. Participants will be working in our garden for hands-on experiences to learn about ecological sustainability, food security, nutrition and much more!

Paint & Sip Open Art Studio (Adults)

Poetry Slam Workshop

Slam poetry is a spoken art form. It is the dramatic reading and performance of poetry where words captivate and emotions soar. It can be raw, edgy, emotional and also moving and transformative. 

This workshop will provide students with tools to write impactful poetry and perform it. This course can be taken independently or as a preparation to perform at our first-ever 'Open-Mic Night' poetry slam on Thursday, October 20th from 5-7p.

Acrylic Paint Pouring Monday Early Evenings

A series of 3 classes offered to middle school through adult learners on Mondays from 4p-5p. What is acrylic paint pouring? It's a form of abstract painting using fluid acrylic paints.​Instead of using paint brushes, we pour the paint on the canvas. It's fun, easy, and creates gorgeous results!
